Johannesburg, the South African mega pole gives impressive energy and its urban landscape is in perpetual effervescence. While travelling to and from the city centre, the workers living in the townships generate its soundscape. A sort of peak is reached when, at the end of the working day, urban minibus bring them back home. The city’s soundscape is going from the wildest effervescence to a relative calm for the rest of the night.

Sound and visual impressions have been captured from the 14th floor of the Ansteys Building, an art deco building situated in the Central Business District. The performance occurs in interaction with the sounds of the urban landscape whose time frame and development shape the live composition work.
