ASSONANCES

Assonance is a figure of speech consisting of the repetition of a same vowel sound in several close words. More generally one speaks generally of assonance in the case of a repetition of one or more vowels in a verse or phrase. The desired effect is, as with the alliteration, the highlight of a sonority and thereby a feeling or quality of speech. It aims the imitative harmony and in this sense it is very close to the onomatopoeia.

The work explores possible interactions between church organ and percussion in close relation with the acoustic of a church. Organ and percusion assonances are used through the different pieces using metric and harmonic assonances’ concept as tool for live composition.
